Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Free Velasquez (ranked 5290 p4p, 5834 weight class) and Jah Kid (ranked 482 p4p, 0 weight class). Kid has chosen Walk - Pantera as his entrance music. Jah Kid has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Free Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jah Kid!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kid finds it's way round the side to connect with Velasquez's head.
It looks like Free Velasquez has been cut.
Kid lunges at Velasquez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Velasquez's hand.
Velasquez takes the fight into the clinch.
Velasquez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kid uses from the top position.
Kid stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Velasquez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kid has gone for a leg lock! Velasquez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kid's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kid wants to work for an arm triangle but Velasquez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kid uses his free foot to push down on Velasquez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Velasquez.
Velasquez is trying to escape the mount but Kid keeps good control and instead manages to take Velasquez's back.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Velasquez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kid.
Velasquez looks to land a combination but Kid avoids it well.
Velasquez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kid moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kid is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Velasquez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Velasquez's back!
Well, with Kid on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Velasquez is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Kid's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Velasquez is in a bad position with Kid working for a choke. Velasquez manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.

Velasquez tries to bum rush Kid with a series of wild strikes but Kid uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Velasquez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Velasquez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Velasquez blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Kid is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Velasquez pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kid tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Velasquez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Velasquez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Kid is looking to work his way around to Velasquez's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Kid jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Velasquez is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Velasquez and Kid has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Kid has hold of Velasquez's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Velasquez seems comfortable defending it but Kid has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Velasquez is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Velasquez is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Kid couldn't care less - he's delighted!
