With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kaarlo Susi!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Susi defending well as Mfer loads up on a big left hand.
Mfer sizes up Susi with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Mfer scores with a shot to the body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Mfer.
Susi lunges at Mfer with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mfer's hand.
Susi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mfer manages to avoid it.
Susi takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Susi's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mfer connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Susi scrambles back to his feet.
Hunt Mfer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Susi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mfer has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Susi.

We've been hearing reports that Mfer has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Mfer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Susi.

Mfer swings wildly with an uppercut but Susi uses good head movement to avoid it.

Mfer has closed the distance and engaged Susi in a clinch.
Mfer doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Susi swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Susi blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Susi misses with a short punch on the inside.
Mfer tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Mfer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Susi.
Mfer ducks under a wild hook from Susi.
Mfer connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Susi's hands.
Susi blocks a leg kick.
Mfer lands a slapping body shot.
Mfer connects with a looping right hand.
Susi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Susi wants it to stay on the feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Susi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Susi has control of Mfer's left arm, preventing Mfer from doing any damage.
Mfer wants to control from the top but Susi keeps moving.
Mfer tries to free his leg and advance position but Susi is retaining full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Susi slips a jab and a cross from Mfer.
Mfer misses with an uppercut. Susi saw that one coming.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Susi checks a leg kick.
A shot to the liver by Mfer. Beautiful body shot.
Susi just misses with a punch to the body.
Mfer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Susi now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Hunt Mfer is winning the standup battle so far.
Susi throws a nice inside leg kick.
Mfer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Susi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mfer takes one to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mfer looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

and Susi counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mfer thinking.

Mfer throws a leg kick which misses Susi's front leg but catches the back leg as Susi tries to avoid it.

Mfer lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Whack! Susi lands a heavy head kick that drops Mfer. The ref tackles Susi to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Mfer was done.
