The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boone lands the left hand.
Boone feints and then cracks Alverez's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Alverez down.
Alverez missing with a left hand there. Boone was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Boone throws a hook to the side of Alverez's head but Alverez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Alverez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Alverez unleashes a big counter combination but Boone bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Alverez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Alverez tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Boone is able to avoid easily.

We've been informed that Alverez has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
