Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yevgeny Ignatov (ranked 383 p4p, 305 weight class) and Royal Halsti (ranked 62 p4p, 49 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yevgeny Ignatov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Royal Halsti!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Halsti.
Halsti throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ignatov swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ignatov stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Halsti.
Halsti fails with the takedown.
Ignatov was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

letting Ignatov counter with a right hand.

It looks like Royal Halsti has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Halsti lets loose with a powerful body kick. Ignatov will feel that in the morning.

Halsti throws a low kick, looking for Ignatov's leg but Ignatov calmly moves out of range.
Ignatov throws a counter high kick but Halsti was just alert enough to avoid it.

Ignatov takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Ignatov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ignatov lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Halsti is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ignatov gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Halsti has picked Ignatov up - he's going for a ride! Halsti dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Ignatov is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Halsti lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Halsti shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ignatov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Halsti drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ignatov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ignatov looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ignatov!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ignatov has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Halsti!

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Halsti just trying to survive but Ignatov is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Ignatov just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Halsti rolls, trying to escape but Ignatov keeps control of the position.

Ignatov really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Halsti.
Ignatov is hanging on to Halsti's back as he tries to escape.
Halsti is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Halsti breaks Ignatov's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ignatov is on top in guard.


Ignatov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Halsti has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ignatov has managed to get both his arms back between Halsti's legs - danger averted.

Ignatov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Halsti felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Ignatov tries to control but Halsti wriggling away.
Ignatov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Yevgeny Ignatov will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Ignatov went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Halsti takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Halsti. Ignatov shrugs it off though.
