Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thor White (ranked 85 p4p, 240 weight class) and Shinnosuke Nakagawa (ranked 15 p4p, 34 weight class). Nakagawa has chosen Koto - CloZee as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thor White! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shinnosuke Nakagawa! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakagawa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. White defends it nicely. White works the jab nicely. White throws a jab but it's blocked by Nakagawa. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nakagawa uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from White. Nakagawa wants to counter with a clinch but White pushes him away. Nakagawa moves into range and connects with a jab. Nakagawa lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

letting White counter with a right hand. Nakagawa goes for a double leg but White avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as White continues to drive forward. It looked like White was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. We've been hearing reports that White has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. A looping hook to the body misses from Nakagawa. White does a little dance to reset his feet. White is looking to counter punch. Nakagawa gets in close and instigates a clinch. Nakagawa misses with a hook to the ribs.

It looked like White wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
