Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keisuke Matsuzaka (ranked 148 p4p, 410 weight class) and Itchy Sinclair (ranked 18 p4p, 51 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Keisuke Matsuzaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Itchy Sinclair!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sinclair throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
It looked like Matsuzaka wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Sinclair misses with an attempted mid kick.
Sinclair bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Sinclair misses with a two punch combination.
Sinclair throws a sloppy body shot
and Matsuzaka counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sinclair's knee momentarily.
Matsuzaka looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Matsuzaka misses with an attempted mid kick.
Sinclair gets off balance looking for a body kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Sinclair closes this distance looking for a takedown but Matsuzaka circles away.
Sinclair misses with a wild body shot.
Sinclair throws the kick towards the body but Matsuzaka avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Matsuzaka uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sinclair.

We've been informed that Sinclair has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Sinclair lands a nice shot that snaps Matsuzaka's head back.

Matsuzaka throws a jab when Sinclair was well out of range.
Sinclair lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Matsuzaka circles away quickly and effectively.
Matsuzaka connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Sinclair shoots for a takedown but Matsuzaka saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Keisuke Matsuzaka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Itchy Sinclair.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sinclair throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Matsuzaka slips under a jab from Sinclair.
Matsuzaka scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Matsuzaka misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sinclair.

Matsuzaka cracks Sinclair with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Matsuzaka has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Sinclair to stand back up!

Sinclair is rocked!

That has opened up Itchy Sinclair's cut even more.
Sinclair slips under a jab.
Matsuzaka avoids the body shot from Sinclair.
Keisuke Matsuzaka is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sinclair lands a jab to the nose.
Sinclair dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sinclair throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sinclair closes the distance and clinches up with Matsuzaka, looking for a takedown. Sinclair pushes Matsuzaka against the cage but Matsuzaka circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sinclair drives through with a takedown into Matsuzaka's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Matsuzaka is wriggling around but Sinclair manages to pass to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Matsuzaka cracks Sinclair with a hook to the temple - Sinclair is on wobbly legs here! Matsuzaka swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Sinclair falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Matsuzaka wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Keisuke Matsuzaka!
After the fight, Keisuke Matsuzaka was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
