PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Colin Cabal (ranked 4027 p4p, 4063 weight class) and Derrick Ryker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabal circles away from the clinch attempt
and Cabal counters with a left and a right that stings Ryker.
Ryker gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Cabal manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Cabal will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ryker is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Ryker gets control of Cabal's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ryker will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Ryker has an active guard here but Cabal has managed to pass into half guard.

Ryker is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cabal pulls his head out easily.
Ryker is looking for a sweep. Cabal is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ryker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cabal doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cabal manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cabal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cabal in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Ryker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cabal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
