Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Martin Drop (ranked 1858 p4p, 891 weight class) and Julio Christ (ranked 87 p4p, 45 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Martin Drop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Julio Christ!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christ throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Drop lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Julio Christ has been cut.
Drop throws a sloppy head kick and Christ moves out of range easily.
Drop throws a front kick that sends Christ stumbling back into the cage.
Christ throws a right and a left that Drop avoids nicely.
Nice defenses there by Drop.
Christ avoids the head kick by Drop.
Christ slips a jab and a cross from Drop.
Drop tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Christ misses with a looping left.
As Christ looks to move away, Drop throws a big counter combo but Christ just gets out of the way.

Drop looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Drop throws a head kick that Christ semi-blocks.

Christ throws out a loose jab but Drop uses good head movement to avoid it.
Drop bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Drop is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Christ.

Christ chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Drop can pounce on him.

Christ thows a left - swing and a miss!
Christ smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Christ with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Drop to score with a decent uppercut.

Drop throws a series of punches but Christ avoids them all with ease.
Drop lands with an uppercut that bounces Christ off the cage and back into range.
Martin Drop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Christ let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Christ connects with a nice looking jab.
Drop lands with an overhand left.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Christ works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

A telegraphed right hand from Christ misses the target.
Some wild striking there from Drop.
Drop uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Christ.

Drop lands with a slapping head kick.
Drop throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Christ counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Drop lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Drop throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Christ! But no joy.

Christ lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Drop misses with a looping right.

Christ feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Drop sprawling to the canvas! Drop rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Christ finish him?!

Drop is rocked!
A lazy left from Drop finds it's target.
Drop throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Christ.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Christ slips a jab from Drop.

Christ feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Drop sprawling to the canvas! Drop rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Christ finish him?!
Oh Drop is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Christ uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Drop.
Drop seems to have got his legs back now.
Christ misses with a wild combination.
Christ moves away from the strike by Drop.
Nice straight punches there by Drop. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Drop.
A jab lands there for Drop.
Christ throws a jab but it's blocked by Drop.
Christ scores with a jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Drop with a nice cross.
Drop throws a head kick that misses.
Drop ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Christ is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Christ jabbing away but nothing is landing.
It appears Drop was looking to counter with a kick there.
Drop misses with a hook
and Christ counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Drop thinking.
Christ blocks a head kick by Drop.
Christ displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Drop throws out the jab.
Drop fails to land with a series of punches.

Martin Drop's cut is getting worse.
Christ moves out of range as Drop throws a body kick.
Drop throws a wild body kick that Christ sees coming a mile off.
Drop finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Drop takes a swing at Christ's ribcage but misses.
Drop goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Drop throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Christ sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Drop tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Martin Drop will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

A swing and a miss from Drop.
Christ connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Drop tumbling to the canvas! Christ pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Drop was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Julio Christ!
