PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Moder (ranked 962 p4p, 2101 weight class) and Chad Coleman (ranked 109 p4p, 202 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jan Moder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Coleman!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moder lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
We've been informed that Coleman has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Moder slaps away a takedown attempt from Coleman, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Coleman tries for a takedown but Moder sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Coleman shoots in for a takedown but Moder shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jan Moder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chad Coleman.

Moder manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Moder is pressed up against the cage. Coleman has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Moder down to the mat. Moder avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Coleman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That was a close round but I would say that Jan Moder will probably get the nod.
