Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Champion throws a right and a left that Sapo avoids nicely.
We've been hearing reports that Sapo has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Champion throws a low kick but it's checked well by Sapo.
Sapo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Champion.

Sapo tries to land a leg kick but Champion saw it coming and moves away.
Champion looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Champion loads up on a big right hand but Sapo slips the punch.
Champion throws a low kick, looking for Sapo's leg but Sapo calmly moves out of range.
Peoples Champion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sapo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Champion to score with a decent uppercut.
Champion lands a really nice looking cross but Sapo seems unphased.
Sapo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Champion.

It looks like Peoples Champion has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looked like Sapo wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Champion throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Sapo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sapo sizes up Champion with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

That has opened up Peoples Champion's cut even more.

Champion swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Champion lunges at Sapo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sapo's hand.

Champion moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Sapo goes down! Can Champion finish him!?

Sapo is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sapo has a closed guard, preventing Champion from standing up.
Oh Sapo is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sapo wants to sweep here but Champion controlling him for the moment.
Champion stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sapo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sapo seems to have got his legs back now.
Champion tries to stand but Sapo is controlling from the bottom.

Sapo looks to throw the jab but Champion is out of range.

Champion misses with a hook. Sapo ducked under it nicely.
Sapo throws a big counter combination but Champion scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Oooh a lovely combination from Champion sends Sapo down but not out. Champion dives into side control looking to finish.

Champion decides to stand back up. Champion steps back and let's Sapo get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Champion throws a poor cross that misses
and Sapo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

The cut above Peoples Champion's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Champion thows a left - swing and a miss!
Champion ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Champion buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Champion is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sapo had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Sapo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Champion.

Sapo lands a big uppercut and Champion crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Champion looks OK. Sapo waves Champion back to his feet!
Champion keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sapo on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Champion. Champion obviously looking to wear him down.
Champion slips a jab from Sapo.

Champion thuds his right hand into Sapo's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

and Sapo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Champion is rocked!

Peoples Champion's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Champion thows a leg kick but Sapo checks it
and Sapo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Champion moves out of range as Sapo strikes.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Champion and Sapo goes tumbling to the canvas! Champion follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
Champion tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sapo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Champion decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sapo. Champion does a little dance to reset his feet.
Champion punishes Sapo's body with a nice straight punch.
A shot to the liver by Champion. Beautiful body shot.
Champion avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sapo fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Champion square on the jaw! Damn, Champion is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
