Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Phol Boxaaja (ranked 2800 p4p, 2658 weight class) and Jaro Lalla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lalla is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by ЛЮБИ. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 22 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Phol Boxaaja!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 30 - 2, fighting out of London, Jaro Lalla!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lalla gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Boxaaja to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Boxaaja wants to control from the top but Lalla keeps moving.

Boxaaja drops back looking for a leg! Lalla is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lalla manages to kick Boxaaja off! Boxaaja jumps back into Lalla's guard.

Lalla escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boxaaja gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Boxaaja pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lalla is keeping the position for now.

Lalla looking for a guillotine here but Boxaaja defends easily.
Our spies down at at JAG Battle Gym inform us that Lalla has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Lalla is looking for a triangle but Boxaaja pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lalla is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boxaaja defends well.
Lalla keeping moving, preventing Boxaaja from controlling successfully.

Boxaaja avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lalla tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Boxaaja trying to control but Lalla is working from the bottom.

The fighters are battling for position here. Lalla manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Boxaaja wants to pass the guard but Lalla is keeping the position.

Lalla has his foot on Boxaaja's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Boxaaja works his way back into a safe position though.

Boxaaja wants to control from the top but Lalla keeps moving.
Boxaaja wants to stand but Lalla has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Boxaaja thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lalla is on top in guard.

Boxaaja is looking for a triangle but Lalla pushes his legs off easily.
Lalla stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boxaaja swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lalla content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Lalla with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Lalla drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Boxaaja manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lalla has Boxaaja in his guard.


Boxaaja got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lalla has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boxaaja has managed to get both his arms back between Lalla's legs - danger averted.

Lalla is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Boxaaja stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lalla swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Boxaaja drops back looking for a leg! Lalla is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lalla manages to kick Boxaaja off! Boxaaja jumps back into Lalla's guard.

Lalla is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Lalla doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Boxaaja has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Boxaaja tries to free his leg and advance position but Lalla is retaining full guard.
Boxaaja trying to control but Lalla is working from the bottom.

Lalla pushes a forearm under Boxaaja's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Boxaaja is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jaro Lalla!
A very excited looking Jaro Lalla made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
