Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Fish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Grant Owens!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owens misses with a head kick.
Jim Fish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Owens throws a hook but Fish avoids it easily.
Owens avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Fish avoids a kick to the body.
Fish throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Owens stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Fish dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Owens misses with a hook. Fish ducked under it nicely.
Owens misses with an uppercut. Fish saw that one coming.
Owens takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A looping hook to the body misses from Fish. Owens does a little dance to reset his feet.
Owens counters with a body kick.
Owens with the inside leg kick.
Owens ducks under a wild hook from Fish.
Fish throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Owens bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Fish misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fish throws a big shot that misses.
Fish misses with a low kick.
Fish is looking to land body kicks.
Good exchange - Fish coming out on top.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fish throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Owens sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Fish misses with a wild body shot.

Fish throws a body punch but Owens moves out of range.

Fish throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Owens tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fish is in Owens's guard.
Fish with a flurry of punches that miss.
Fish not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Owens wants to sweep here but Fish controlling him for the moment.
Fish postures up in Owens's guard and throws a big left but Owens blocks it.
Owens told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Owens has a closed guard, preventing Fish from standing up.
Owens is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Fish looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Fish throws a strike but Owens rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Owens must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fish wants to sweep here but Owens controlling him for the moment.

Fish has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Owens off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Fish scores with a sloppy right hand. Owens should have avoided that one.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fish jabs Owens right on the nose. Owens blinks but takes it well.
Owens connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Owens throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fish scores with a jab. Owens acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Owens steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Fish.
Fish lunges at Owens with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Owens's hand.
Grant Owens is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fish moves into range and connects with a jab.
Fish throws a lazy right hand but Owens sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Owens wants to counter the offense by Fish and move into the clinch position.
Fish throws a hook but Owens avoids it easily.
Owens throws a push kick but Fish slaps the foot to one side.
Fish thumps Owens with a low kick.

Fish throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Owens throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Nice shot lands for Owens.
Fish tests Owens's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A punch lands to the side of Owens 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Owens throws a jab but it's blocked by Fish.
Owens moves out of range as Fish strikes.
Fish is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Fish misses with a double jab

and Owens counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Fish is trying to break the clinch but Owens is controlling him.
Fish is trying to break free.
Owens throws a head punch that misses.
Owens has a couple of punches blocked by Fish.

Fish's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Owens slips a jab from Fish.
Owens follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Fish moves out of range of the strikes.
Owens keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fish connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Fish keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fish swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fish lands a glancing blow to the side of Owens's head.
Owens with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fish to score with a decent uppercut.
Owens throws a sloppy head kick and Fish moves out of range easily.
It looked like Fish wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Owens throws a front kick aimed at Fish's knee but Fish avoids it well.
Owens checks a leg kick.
Owens moves out of range of the strikes.
Owens ducks under a wild hook from Fish.
Fish misses with a head kick.
Fish misses with a hook. Owens ducked under it nicely.
Fish on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Fish just misses with a punch to the body.
Fish is looking to score with low kicks.
Owens throws out a counter right but Fish avoids it with no problem.
Owens fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Fish.
Owens swinging wildly here.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fish throws out a loose jab but Owens uses good head movement to avoid it.
Owens tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Fish is able to avoid easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Fish misses with an uppercut.
Fish fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Owens has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Owens looks to land a right hand but Fish moved out of range.
Fish needs to keep his hands up - Owens had a free shot at his head there.

Owens slips a straight right by Fish.
Owens throws a nice outside leg kick.
Owens ducks under a wild hook from Fish.
Owens jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Owens walks into a stiff left hand from Fish.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Owens throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Fish.

It looks like Jim Fish has been cut.
Owens ducks right into an uppercut from Fish.

Owens defending well as Fish loads up on a big left hand.
Fish throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fish throws out a loose jab but Owens uses good head movement to avoid it.
And Owens tries to counter it with a takedown but Fish pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Fish connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Owens's hands.

Nice defenses there by Owens.
Owens is looking to score with low kicks.
As Owens tries to get set, Fish tries to push him back and clinch up but Owens manages to avoid the attempt.
Fish scores with a jab to the body.
Owens wants to land a leg kick but Fish is out of range.

Owens lands a big head kick that sends Fish tumbling to the mat! Owens takes a step backwards and waves Fish back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Fish throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Owens counters with a left and a right... And another left! Fish is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Grant Owens!
