Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Garces (ranked 24897 p4p, 2386 weight class) and Helio Flacide (ranked 575 p4p, 298 weight class). Helio Flacide told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miguel Garces!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Helio Flacide!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flacide tries to clinch but Garces moves out of range.
Helio Flacide seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garces tries to keep at a distance but Flacide has taken the fight into the clinch.
Flacide is looking for a takedown.
Garces tries to break the clinch but Flacide is controlling the position.
Flacide pulls guard.
Garces trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Garces throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Flacide works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Garces wanted to stand there but Flacide had control of the position.
Flacide wants to sweep but no luck.
Flacide preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Garces won't allow Flacide to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flacide can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Garces controls the pace.
Flacide is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Garces with a flurry of punches that miss.

Garces is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Flacide has his foot on Garces's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Garces works his way back into a safe position though.
Garces controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Flacide is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Garces throwing strikes from guard but Flacide blocks nicely.
Flacide looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Garces is defending well. Flacide quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Garces has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Flacide celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
