Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cadence Collins (ranked 914 p4p, 761 weight class) and Lars Kay (ranked 78 p4p, 65 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cadence Collins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lars Kay! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Collins enables Kay to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Collins manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Collins is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kay is aware though and is defending well. Collins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Collins keeping full guard, as Kay tries to pass. Collins is trying to control the position but Kay postures up. Kay trying to control but Collins is working from the bottom. Collins wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kay is now in half guard. Collins on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Collins is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kay throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Collins to regain full guard. Collins pulls Kay in to control the position. Collins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kay in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kay with a nice head shot there. Collins trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Collins trying to keep a closed guard but Kay is proving a slippery customer.
Collins avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Kay chips away with some ground and pound. Kay advances position into side control! In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kay working his ground and pound in the gym. Kay working the ground and pound from side control. Kay lands a nice forearm strike. Kay connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Collins some visible discomfort.
Kay works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Collins tries to bench press Kay off him but Kay keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kay working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Kay is looking to take a break and control but Collins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Collins sneaks back into half guard. Kay not landing any meaningful shots this time. Collins regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Collins working for a triangle but Kay defends it easily.

Collins is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kay is aware though and is defending well. Kay trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Collins keeping moving, preventing Kay from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kay keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Collins's head. Kay is in close to Collins's body, working some short punches and elbows. Collins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kay doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kay manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Collins controls Kay momentarily but Kay frees himself. Kay working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Collins's head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kay is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Collins has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Kay is looking to defend but Collins has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Kay! Collins pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Kay taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Cadence Collins! A very excited looking Cadence Collins made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
