Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mateo Peres (ranked 4955 p4p, 25374 weight class) and Martino Silva (ranked 372 p4p, 443 weight class). Martino Silva is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mateo Peres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Martino Silva!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peres throws a half hearted mid kick.
Peres lands the left hand.
Silva closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Silva moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Silva throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Peres.
Silva checks a low kick from Peres.
Peres throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Silva on the side of the head.

Peres looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Peres lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Silva's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Peres connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Silva scrambles back to his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Peres throws a leg kick but Silva sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Silva dives in for a single leg takedown but Peres sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Peres bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Silva's head backwards.

Peres lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Peres.
Mateo Peres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peres moves out of range of the body kick from Silva.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Peres sprawls well. Peres wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.
Peres was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Silva takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Peres fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silva manages to avoid it.

A little jabbing left from Silva on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Silva gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Silva goes for a double leg but Peres avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Peres continues to drive forward.

Silva has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Silva there as he acknowledges the shot.

Well Peres has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
