Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ki Ruyjini (ranked 1824 p4p, 2976 weight class) and Otso Toivonen (ranked 268 p4p, 407 weight class). Ruyjini's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, 修羅の花 Shura no hana by Meiko Kaji. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Conviction

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ki Ruyjini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Otso Toivonen!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toivonen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ruyjini but Ruyjini pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ruyjini swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Toivonen.
We've been told by Ruyjini's head coaches at House of 1000 Corpses that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Toivonen staying out of range there.
Ruyjini clobbers Toivonen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Horrible takedown attempt by Toivonen or perhaps it was just good defense by Ruyjini, which made it look bad.
Toivonen fails to land the takedown.
Ki Ruyjini has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Otso Toivonen.
Toivonen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ruyjini finds it's way round the side to connect with Toivonen's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ruyjini throws a good cross that connects.

Toivonen is rocked!
Toivonen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ruyjini thinks about countering with a head kick.
Otso Toivonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ruyjini lands with a nice body kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ruyjini leaves Toivonen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Toivonen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ruyjini's waist but Ruyjini gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Toivonen off to one side.
It looked like Ruyjini wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Ruyjini feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Toivonen sprawling to the canvas! Toivonen rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ruyjini finish him?!
Toivonen is still on wobbly legs! Can Ruyjini finish him?

It looks like Otso Toivonen has been cut.
Ruyjini changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ruyjini sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Toivonen's defenses. It connects perfectly with Toivonen's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ki Ruyjini!
