Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mehmet Shakaromanov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Shaun Irwin!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irwin ducks under a wild hook from Shakaromanov.
Irwin moves out of range of the strikes.

Irwin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Shakaromanov's guard.
Shakaromanov wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Irwin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Shakaromanov's guard.
Irwin is nestled in close to Shakaromanov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Shakaromanov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shakaromanov tries to get out of the position.
Irwin content to control rather than advance.
Irwin prevents Shakaromanov from improving his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Irwin escapes and gets back to his feet.

Irwin gets a double leg takedown into Shakaromanov's guard.
Shakaromanov wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Irwin manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shakaromanov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Irwin pulls his head out easily.
Shakaromanov tries to roll over but Irwin keeps him under control.

Still in half guard, Irwin seems content to control.
Shakaromanov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Irwin on the ground.

Shakaromanov wants to control but Irwin is keeping busy.
Shakaromanov is trying to stand up here but Irwin is controlling him well.

Irwin stops Shakaromanov from getting back to his feet.
Irwin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Shakaromanov cracks Irwin with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Irwin wants to clinch.
Shakaromanov moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Irwin is rocked!
Irwin switches off momentarily and Shakaromanov cracks him with a monster right hand! Irwin topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Shakaromanov dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Shakaromanov!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mehmet Shakaromanov!
Mehmet Shakaromanov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
In defeat, Shaun Irwin stepped up to the mic, saying 'I would say that he is the better fighter, but I would be lying.'.
