Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Caelan Aengus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ruud Altena!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Kavanagh and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Altena pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Aengus back to the cage. Altena follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Aengus uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Altena.
Aengus misses with a hook. Altena ducked under it nicely.
Altena slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Aengus darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Altena connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Aengus's hands.
Altena tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Aengus throwing a counter right hand but Altena manages to avoid it.
Altena waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Aengus.
Altena throws an off balance right hand
and Aengus counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Ruud Altena has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Aengus looks to land a left hand but Altena moved out of range nicely.
Aengus misses the jab.
Altena ducks under a wild hook from Aengus.
Aengus misses with a hook
and Altena counters with a nice uppercut.
Altena staying out of range there.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Altena! But no joy.
Caelan Aengus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aengus lands a big right hand that sends Altena crashing to the mat! Aengus stays standing though and waves Altena back to his feet!
Altena is rocked!
Aengus throws a pinpoint strike between Altena's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Altena crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Aengus scores a great knockout victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Caelan Aengus!
