PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mac Anudo (ranked 650 p4p, 605 weight class) and Old Leg Tartakov (ranked 78 p4p, 75 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mac Anudo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Old Leg Tartakov!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tartakov misses with a hook.
Tartakov keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Anudo feints and then cracks Tartakov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tartakov down.
Anudo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tartakov pinned against the cage. Tartakov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Anudo dives in and grabs Tartakov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tartakov pushes down on Anudo's head and hops out.
Tartakov fails with an attempt to clinch.
Anudo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tartakov appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Old Leg Tartakov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anudo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tartakov swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mac Anudo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Anudo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Anudo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tartakov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Anudo is working hard here to advance position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Anudo's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Tartakov looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Anudo won't allow Tartakov to sweep him here.

Tartakov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Anudo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Anudo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Anudo wants to control from the top but Tartakov keeps moving.

Anudo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Anudo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Tartakov seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Tartakov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Anudo defends it easily.

Tartakov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Anudo's guard.

Tartakov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Anudo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tartakov has managed to get both his arms back between Anudo's legs - danger averted.

Tartakov darts in and clinches Anudo up against the cage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Anudo has hold of Tartakov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tartakov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Anudo breaks from Tartakov's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Anudo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Anudo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tartakov has managed to free his arm - good work.

Tartakov slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Anudo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Mac Anudo showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Anudo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
