Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Makhmud Cherokee (ranked 5250 p4p, 2562 weight class) and Edvaldo Cosme (ranked 551 p4p, 339 weight class). Cherokee kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bruises. The key to victory for Makhmud Cherokee has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edvaldo Cosme!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cherokee misses with a double jab.
Cherokee connects with a body shot.
Cosme pushes Cherokee up against the ropes in a clinch.
Cherokee is trying to trip Cosme. He has hold of a leg but Cosme is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cherokee persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Cosme working for a triangle but Cherokee defends it easily.
Cherokee tries to stand but Cosme is controlling from the bottom.
Cherokee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Cherokee gets to his feet - Cosme follows without any prompting.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cosme working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cherokee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Cosme is tightening it up a little... Cherokee has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Cherokee reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Cherokee taps out! Nice BJJ there by Cosme!
