Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Elrey Dorado (ranked 2269 p4p, 2098 weight class) and Rico Rodriguez (ranked 294 p4p, 281 weight class). Dorado comes into the arena with MY STORY blaring out of the sound system. Rodriguez has chosen Latin Lingo as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elrey Dorado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rico Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez shoots in looking for a takedown. Dorado tries to sprawl out of it but Rodriguez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dorado manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dorado scores with a shot to the body.
Dorado looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dorado sprawls well. Dorado wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rodriguez gets slowly back to his feet.
Dorado connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodriguez tries for a takedown but Dorado sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dorado appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Elrey Dorado has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rico Rodriguez.

Dorado slaps away a takedown attempt from Rodriguez, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Rodriguez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Dorado connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dorado scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Dorado wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Rodriguez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Dorado connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rodriguez's hands.
Dorado uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dorado connects with a single shot there.
Rodriguez is rocked!
Dorado cracks Rodriguez on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Rodriguez falls backwards against the cage. Dorado follows up with more strikes that drop Rodriguez to his knees. Dorado keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Rodriguez! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Elrey Dorado!
