Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Valentin Taneyev (ranked 12 p4p, 115 weight class) and Tristan St. Gough (ranked 3 p4p, 19 weight class). Tristan St. Gough told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Valentin Taneyev!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tristan St. Gough!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St. Gough has Taneyev up against the cage in a clinch.
St. Gough breaks the clinch.
St. Gough tries to clinch there but Taneyev circles away.
St. Gough wants to clinch.
St. Gough has taken the fight to the clinch.
Taneyev misses with some punches.
Taneyev tries a body shot but St. Gough blocks it.
St. Gough's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
St. Gough fails in his attempt to clinch.
St. Gough tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Taneyev paws at him with a jab and circles away.
St. Gough fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Taneyev, pushing him back against the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for St. Gough.
Taneyev tries a body shot but St. Gough blocks it.

St. Gough misses with a punch on the inside.

We've been informed that St. Gough has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
St. Gough looking to stall.
A short body shot lands from Taneyev as the two fighters clinch.
St. Gough doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
St. Gough breaks the clinch.
Taneyev lands a big head kick that sends St. Gough tumbling to the mat! Taneyev takes a step backwards and waves St. Gough back to his feet - he wants the finish!
St. Gough is rocked!
It looks like Tristan St. Gough has been cut.
St. Gough throws a poor cross that misses
and Taneyev counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks St. Gough out cold! What a finish! Taneyev is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Valentin Taneyev!
