Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Suzaku Kururugi (ranked 1807 p4p, 2707 weight class) and Marcus Hughes (ranked 231 p4p, 336 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Suzaku Kururugi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Hughes! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kururugi slips a jab from Hughes. Hughes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kururugi. Kururugi obviously looking to wear him down.
Hughes shoots in and gets a takedown into Kururugi's guard. Hughes with a flurry of punches that miss. Hughes trying to control but Kururugi is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hughes looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hughes wants to control from the top but Kururugi keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Hughes trying to control but Kururugi is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kururugi connects with the punch. Hughes fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kururugi to the ground. Hughes is now in Kururugi's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hughes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kururugi works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kururugi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hughes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hughes passes Kururugi's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes is figuring out what he wants to do next. Hughes lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Hughes sitting and controlling from the half guard. Kururugi is looking to control Hughes's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kururugi avoid being mounted?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kururugi avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hughes. Hughes in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kururugi tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Hughes!
