The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belmond shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Belmond steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Diaz.
Belmond looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Belmond tries to work over Diaz's front leg with a kick but Diaz checks it.
Belmond ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Belmond throws a nice outside leg kick.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Diaz has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Diaz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Belmond swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Diaz.
Belmond lands with a kick to the temple. Diaz shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
A decent looking cross lands there for Diaz.

Diaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Belmond moves away.

Belmond was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Belmond cracks Diaz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Diaz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Belmond.

Belmond throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

It looked like Belmond was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Diaz.

Diaz fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Belmond on the side of the head.
Belmond throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

As Diaz backs away, Belmond returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Belmond thinks about countering with a head kick.
Diaz uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Belmond has time to react.

Belmond is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Belmond fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Diaz checks it well.
Diaz has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Belmond.

A lazy left from Belmond finds it's target.
Diaz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Belmond was well out of range. Poor timing from Diaz.

Belmond is rocked!
Diaz steps in with a hook that catches Belmond right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Diaz follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Belmond looks absolutely devastated.

Dick Diaz decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
