PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Erasmo Bezerra (ranked 2782 p4p, 4784 weight class) and Rick Segura (ranked 332 p4p, 461 weight class). Segura is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mystic Rick - Press Conference. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Segura misses with a body shot.
Segura takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Bezerra gets a double leg takedown into Segura's guard.
Segura wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Bezerra manages to pass to side control.

Bezerra missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Segura is trying to control but can't.
Segura tries to roll over but Bezerra keeps him under control.
Bezerra wants to control but Segura is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Segura has hold of Bezerra's hands but Bezerra slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Segura moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Segura escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bezerra gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Segura keeping moving, preventing Bezerra from controlling successfully.
Segura not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bezerra trying to control the position from guard on top but Segura is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Bezerra shoots in and bounces Segura off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Bezerra is standing up over Segura. Segura looks to escape but Bezerra dives into side control.

Segura has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Bezerra works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Segura tries to bench press Bezerra off him but Bezerra keeps the position.
Bezerra throws an elbow but Segura slips to the side and avoids it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bezerra has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Segura bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bezerra's head.
