Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luuk Benjamin (ranked 772 p4p, 1151 weight class) and John Fisher (ranked 69 p4p, 101 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luuk Benjamin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, John Fisher!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Benjamin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fisher moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Benjamin throws a jab but it's blocked by Fisher.
Benjamin scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Benjamin misses with a hook. Fisher ducked under it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fisher takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Fisher let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Benjamin throws a combination that misses
enabling Fisher to counter with a crisp jab.
Benjamin takes a swing at Fisher's ribcage but misses.
Fisher swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Benjamin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fisher moves away.
Fisher throws out a counter right but Benjamin avoids it with no problem.
Benjamin misses with a body shot.
It seemed like Fisher was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Benjamin throws a predictable looking body shot
and Fisher counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Luuk Benjamin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benjamin cracks Fisher with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Benjamin throws a hook but Fisher blocks it.
Benjamin thows a left - swing and a miss!
Benjamin throws a jab but it's blocked by Fisher.

Benjamin throws a right hand that Fisher ducks under and follows up with a left that Fisher also avoids with ease.

Benjamin drops Fisher with a beautiful combination! Fisher stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Benjamin is looking for the KO!

Fisher is rocked!
A telegraphed right hand from Benjamin misses the target.
Fisher is still on wobbly legs! Can Benjamin finish him?
Fisher avoids a punch combination nicely.
Benjamin throws a big shot that misses.
Fisher seems to have recovered his senses.

Benjamin tries a low kick but Fisher avoids it.
Fisher throws out a counter right but Benjamin avoids it with no problem.
Benjamin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A low kick lands for Benjamin.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A head kick misses from Benjamin.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Fisher! But no joy.
Benjamin lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Benjamin pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Fisher back to the cage. Benjamin follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Benjamin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fisher sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Benjamin swings away with a body shot that misses
and Fisher counters with a straight right hand.
Fisher looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Benjamin throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Benjamin tries to bum rush Fisher with a series of wild strikes but Fisher uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Fisher counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Benjamin lands a glancing blow to the side of Fisher's head.
A combination from Benjamin does no damage.
Fisher throws out a counter right but Benjamin avoids it with no problem.
We've been told by Benjamin's head coaches at Brooklyn Mixed Martial Arts that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Benjamin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fisher can do to turn this around?

Benjamin throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Fisher to counter with a crisp jab.
The fighters circle momentarily. Benjamin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Fisher takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Fisher might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Benjamin has got the better of the exchanges.
