Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Tino Takala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Cotilla!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cotilla wants to clinch.

Cotilla instigates a clinch.
Takala struggles to land a body shot inside as Cotilla controls his hands.

Takala breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cotilla scoring well with a low kick there.
Takala looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Cotilla fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Takala, pushing him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Takala blocks a body shot from Cotilla.
Cotilla takes a shot to the head.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Takala misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Cotilla takes a shot to the head.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Takala as Cotilla tries to tie him up.
A frustrated look appears on Cotilla's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Takala keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cotilla's efforts to push away.

and Takala counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cotilla thinking.

Takala has Cotilla pressed against the cage, preventing Cotilla from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Takala swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Cotilla wants to break free but Takala has control.

Takala seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Cotilla fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Takala avoids it really well and circles away.

Takala breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cotilla will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A right-left combo lands from Cotilla.
Takala tries to clinch but Cotilla moves away
and Cotilla counters with an inside leg kick.
Takala blocks a jab.
Takala explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Cotilla fails to land with a series of punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Takala fails in his attempt to clinch.
Takala avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cotilla tries to close the distance and clinch but Takala swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Takala appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
A jab from Takala finds it's way through Cotilla's defenses.

It looks like Alexander Cotilla has been cut.
Tino Takala is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cotilla lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Cotilla will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Takala looks to land a left hand but Cotilla moved out of range nicely.
Takala takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Takala dodges the punch combination from Cotilla.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A nice inside leg kick there by Cotilla. That's going to slow Takala down.
Alexander Cotilla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cotilla fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Takala swings for the body but Cotilla moves out of range.
Cotilla ducks right into an uppercut from Takala.

Oooooh!!! Cotilla has knocked Takala down with a huge combo! Cotilla steps away and waves a wobbly Takala back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Takala is rocked!
Cotilla throws a body shot but no joy.
Oh Takala is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Takala get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Takala stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Cotilla runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alexander Cotilla!
After winning the bout, Alexander Cotilla thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
