Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dusty Sleeth (ranked 2169 p4p, 860 weight class) and Johnny Slater (ranked 284 p4p, 130 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dusty Sleeth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Slater!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slater gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sleeth accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

It looks like Dusty Sleeth has been cut.

Sleeth shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Slater napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Sleeth has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Slater takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sleeth cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slater is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Sleeth scores with a couple of good head shots there.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Slater moves out of range of the strikes.
Slater bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sleeth looks for a takedown but Slater sprawls well.
Slater stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Slater wants it to stay on the feet.

We've been hearing good reports from Sleeth's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dusty Sleeth will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sleeth, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
