Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Better Dead (ranked 2083 p4p, 2694 weight class) and Rich Voss (ranked 277 p4p, 342 weight class). Better Dead could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rich Voss's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Better Dead! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rich Voss! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Voss has Dead up against the cage in a clinch.
Dead can't find room to land a body shot as Voss controls the action.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Voss misses with some punches.
Dead blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Voss is pushing Dead up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Dead blocks an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Voss gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dead keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Voss looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Voss engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Dead working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Voss. Dead has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. A big right from Dead misses. Voss steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Dead. Voss closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Voss lands with a short shot to the head. Voss is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dead pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Voss lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dead backwards. Voss lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Dead backwards. Voss lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Dead or not. Dead working hard to break the clinch. Voss lands a hook that snaps the head of Dead backwards. Voss works on Dead's body with a couple of short punches. Dead can't break the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Voss lands on the inside with an uppercut. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Voss softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Rich Voss dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Voss misses with a hook. Dead ducked under it nicely. It looked like Dead wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Sloppy strikes from Dead. Those never looked like landing. Dead misses with a right hand and Voss counters by clinching up. Voss lands with a left to the head. Voss lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Dead backwards. Dead has had enough of the clinch but Voss keeps him there for the moment. Voss tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dead smiles and moves away.
Dead throws the left hand but Voss avoids the punch easily. Voss clinches. Dead is trying to break the clinch but Voss is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Voss goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dead prevents it.

Rich Voss seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Dead takes a shot to the head. Dead fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Voss wants to control from the top but Dead keeps moving. Voss has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Dead is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Voss drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dead dives on top into guard. Voss is trying to keep Dead in close.
Dead is looking to stand up but Voss won't let him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Voss is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Voss has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Voss working a defensive guard here.
We've been hearing that Dead has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Dead wants to stand but Voss is controlling his posture from full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dead controlling from the top position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Rich Voss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Voss gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Dead. Dead on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Dead pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Voss is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Voss lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Better Dead has been cut. Dead misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Voss.
Voss feints the counter takedown. Dead loads up on a big right hand but Voss slips the punch. A little jabbing left from Voss on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Dead misses with an uppercut. Voss saw that one coming. Voss uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dead. A jab from Dead misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Voss fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Dead throws a jab but it's blocked by Voss. Voss clinches up against the cage. Voss lands a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Voss accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

A short uppercut from Voss. Voss turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Voss manages to end up in side control. Dead takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Dead is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Voss is trying to work for a kimura but Dead is defending well.
Dead avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Voss. Dead is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Voss scores with a couple of nice shots. Voss sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dead defending well though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Voss is looking to stall here but Dead recovers full guard. Voss is pushing down on Dead's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dead is fighting to maintain full guard but Voss has managed to sneak the leg through. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Voss connects with a nice short shot to Dead's temple. Voss thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Voss is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Dead! Rich Voss is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Voss working the ground and pound effectively.
Rich Voss has got the better of the ground game so far. Voss breaks from Dead's wrist control and lands an elbow.
And that's the end of the fight! Rich Voss comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Voss winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
