Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Old Leg Tartakov (ranked 925 p4p, 2212 weight class) and Max Planck (ranked 108 p4p, 239 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Old Leg Tartakov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Planck!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tartakov looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Planck wants to get back to his feet but Tartakov passes into half guard.

Tartakov moves nicely into side control.
Planck tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tartakov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Planck is pushing Tartakov's head away, looking to escape. Tartakov manages to hold on to the position though.
Tartakov advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Planck holds on to Tartakov around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.
Planck wants to control but Tartakov is having none of it.

Planck is in a horrible position here. Tartakov smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Tartakov with shots to the head and body - Planck looks very uncomfortable down there.
Planck slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Planck looks like he's trying to stand up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tartakov connects with a nice short shot to Planck's temple.

Planck wants to improve his position but Tartakov is controlling well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Planck is looking to control Tartakov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Planck avoid being mounted?

Tartakov is keen to just control but Planck is a slippery customer.

Planck is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tartakov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tartakov's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Planck doesn't have the hooks in and Tartakov manages to turn into his guard.

Planck is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Tartakov lands a lovely overhand right.
Tartakov on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Planck. Planck obviously looking to wear him down.
Max Planck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tartakov throws a lazy right hand but Planck sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Planck misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A slow jab from Tartakov misses its intended target.
A nice side step and Planck releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Planck scores with the left hand. Tartakov knows he should have avoided that one.
Planck loads up on a big right hand but Tartakov slips the punch.
Planck on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
A big right from Planck misses.
Planck takes a swing at Tartakov's ribcage but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tartakov is looking to clinch but Planck is avoiding it.
Tartakov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Tartakov dives in for a single leg takedown but Planck sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Planck misses with an elbow strike.
Planck misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Planck breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Planck's coach down at Hilo Workout Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Planck's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Planck throws a right and a left that both miss.
Max Planck is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Planck misses with a low kick.
Planck is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Planck tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A quick step to the side and Tartakov tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
The crowd cheers as Planck lands an impressive looking overhand right. Tartakov doesn't seem phased though.
Tartakov ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Planck lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tartakov circles away quickly and effectively.
Tartakov throws a low kick but Planck avoids it.
Planck is looking to land body kicks.
Planck throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tartakov sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Planck with a nice calf kick.
Planck works Tartakov's body with a nice hook.
Tartakov scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Max Planck has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Planck misses with a series of wild punches.
Planck connects with a looping right hand.

Planck misses the shot to the body.
Tartakov smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Planck has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Tartakov finds it's way round the side to connect with Planck's head.

Planck is rocked!
Tartakov staying out of range there.
Planck is still on wobbly legs! Can Tartakov finish him?
Planck throws a sloppy head kick
and Tartakov rattles Planck with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Planck tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Tartakov dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Planck stiff and motionless on the mat!
