Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Glen Hoddle (ranked 870 p4p, 1667 weight class) and Albert Sojka (ranked 117 p4p, 226 weight class). Glen Hoddle has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glen Hoddle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Albert Sojka! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoddle scores with a nice right hand.
It looks like Albert Sojka has been cut. Hoddle gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Sojka. Albert Sojka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sojka throws a looping overhand right but Hoddle ducks down to avoid it. Sojka lands a glancing blow to the side of Hoddle's head. Hoddle ducks under a wild hook from Sojka. Hoddle gets the takedown into side control. Hoddle working the ground and pound but Sojka is defending the strikes. Hoddle working the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sojka throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Hoddle throws a head kick that misses. Hoddle shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sojka as he jumps to the side. Hoddle takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. The fighters circling - Hoddle throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Hoddle scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Sojka is trying to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoddle tries to score with some ground and pound. Sojka controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Hoddle prevents Sojka from escaping the position. Hoddle fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Sojka wants to get back to his feet. Sojka on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Check out the look on Hoddle's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Sojka is rocked! A big shot lands for Hoddle! That's hurt Sojka! Will he recover? Hoddle fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Glen Hoddle! Glen Hoddle decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
