These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chukwuma connects with a body shot that sends Akinwande's belly button to the back.
Akinwande lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Chukwuma paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Akinwande throws a series of punches but Chukwuma moves out of range.
Akinwande throws a combination. Chukwuma tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Akinwande swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Henry Akinwande seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Akinwande lands with a shot to the body.

Akinwande chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Chukwuma can pounce on him.
Akinwande ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Chukwuma changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Akinwande tries to avoid it but Chukwuma manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Akinwande to the ground. Akinwande escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Chukwuma counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Akinwande ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chukwuma moves away.

Akinwande has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Chukwuma feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Akinwande sprawling to the canvas! Akinwande rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Chukwuma finish him?!
Chukwuma throws a leg kick which misses Akinwande's front leg but catches the back leg as Akinwande tries to avoid it.
Chukwuma lands a leg kick that knocks Akinwande off balance momentarily.
Akinwande throws a big shot that misses.
As Akinwande looks to move away, Chukwuma throws a big counter combo but Akinwande just gets out of the way.
Akinwande throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chukwuma dips to his left and cracks Akinwande with an uppercut!
Akinwande tries to get into range but Chukwuma steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Akinwande! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Chukwuma scores the big KO victory!
