Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jovan Dickons (ranked 1338 p4p, 1197 weight class) and Donny Jay (ranked 201 p4p, 175 weight class). Dickons comes to the cage accompanied by Sidung. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jovan Dickons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donny Jay!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickons checks a low kick from Jay.
Jay's coach down at LV MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jay's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Jay tries for a takedown but Dickons sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jay lands with a nice combination. Dickons backs away looking to recover.
Jay shoots in for a takedown but Dickons shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jay works Dickons's body with a nice hook.
Jay takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Dickons doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Jay counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dickons has been working on his balance at The Hidden, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Jay.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jay tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dickons was well out of range. Poor timing from Jay.

Dickons takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Dickons fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jay manages to avoid it.

It seemed like Jay was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Jay throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Dickons misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jay is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Dickons dives in for a single leg takedown but Jay sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jay is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Dickons gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Jay regains guard.
Dickons is fighting to break Jay's control of his arms but Jay is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jay throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dickons throws an elbow that misses. Jay uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dickons's guard. Nice move by Jay!

Donny Jay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jay is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Dickons knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Dickons for a finish.

I would just about give that final round to Donny Jay.
I've got Jay winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Donny Jay decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
