The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

It looks like Beaver Shaver has been cut.

Shaver changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Ryan moves into range and clinches up with Shaver.
Ryan lands a hook that snaps the head of Shaver backwards.

Shaver breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ryan throws a jab but it's blocked by Shaver.
Shaver lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ryan circles away quickly and effectively.
Shaver catches Ryan with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Shaver looks to land a right hand but Ryan moved out of range.

Shaver throws a right and a left that Ryan avoids nicely.
Ryan loads up on a big right hand but Shaver slips the punch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ryan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Shaver keeps the fight on the outside.
Ryan uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Shaver has time to react.
