The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose walks into a straight right hand from Cake.

It looks like Thomas Rose has been cut.
Cake lands a really nice looking cross but Rose seems unphased.
Cake misses with a series of wild punches.
Good exchange - Cake coming out on top.
Rose looks to land a right hand but Cake moved out of range.
Cake lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Rose looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Cake throws a hook but Rose avoids it easily.
Cake misses with a wild combination.
Rose fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Rose appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Cake throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cake lands with a nice combination. Rose backs away looking to recover.
Cake misses with a few strikes there.
Rose gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Thomas Rose's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Cake takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Cake throws a jab but it's blocked by Rose.
Rose with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Cake to score with a decent uppercut.
Cake is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Rose had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Cake gets a clinch.
Rose is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cake is defending well for now.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cake's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
