Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vlad Tepes Iii (ranked 651 p4p, 711 weight class) and Terry Silver (ranked 86 p4p, 97 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 26 - 15 - 2, fighting out of London, Vlad Tepes Iii! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terry Silver! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Tepes Iii misses. Silver circles away from the clinch attempt.
A countering left hand to the body from Silver misses. Silver darts in and clinches Tepes Iii up against the cage. Tepes Iii blocking some punches.
Silver fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Tepes Iii displaying some good clinch control by pressing Silver up against the cage. I was talking to Tepes Iii's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Silver prevents a body shot from Tepes Iii. Silver tries a body shot but Tepes Iii blocks it.

Silver swings wildly with an uppercut but Tepes Iii uses good head movement to avoid it. Silver lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silver gets through Tepes Iii's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
It looks like Vlad Tepes Iii has been cut. Tepes Iii has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Silver avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Silver misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Silver throws a punch but it's blocked by Tepes Iii. Tepes Iii breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Silver throws a jab but it's blocked by Tepes Iii. Tepes Iii ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Tepes Iii throws a quick counter kick to the body but Silver avoids it. Tepes Iii dodges the punch combination from Silver.

Tepes Iii half committed to a counter leg kick. Tepes Iii walks into a jab. Good shot there by Tepes Iii. Tepes Iii throws a low kick but Silver moves out of range easily. Tepes Iii changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silver looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tepes Iii is trying to get an arm triangle but Silver is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tepes Iii looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Silver is avoiding damage well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silver tries to buck Tepes Iii off but Tepes Iii is having none of it. Tepes Iii in side control, throwing shots but Silver defends. Silver tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tepes Iii wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Silver felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Tepes Iii is trying to get an arm triangle but Silver is defending well. Tepes Iii controlling from side mount. Silver tries to improve position but can't. Tepes Iii trying to control the position but Silver is working away. Silver tries to improve position but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tepes Iii is looking to take a break and control but Silver is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Tepes Iii tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silver can do anything to dispel that myth. Tepes Iii is trying to get an arm triangle but Silver is defending well. Tepes Iii has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tepes Iii lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Tepes Iii tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tepes Iii has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Silver wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silver can't do much from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tepes Iii is looking to take a break and control but Silver is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The strikes coming from Tepes Iii are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Silver is trying to escape the position but Tepes Iii is controlling the position. Silver is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Tepes Iii wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silver, who protects the arm well. Silver is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Silver really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tepes Iii. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Silver has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tepes Iii is working away from the top position though. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Terry Silver will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Vlad Tepes Iii's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Silver takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Silver drops his hands momentarily and Tepes Iii takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Silver scores with a nice strike. Excellent takedown into side control there by Tepes Iii. Silver throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! This has been an exciting period of action! Tepes Iii wants to clinch up but Silver keeps it at a distance. A solid leg kick lands there for Tepes Iii.

Vlad Tepes Iii seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silver throws the left hand but Tepes Iii avoids the punch easily. Terry Silver is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Silver looks to clinch and Tepes Iii connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Silver gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Tepes Iii. Tepes Iii lands a nice leg kick that just misses Silver's sensitive parts. Tepes Iii wants to clinch up but Silver keeps it at a distance.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Silver tries to clinch but fails miserably and Tepes Iii counters with a leg kick. Silver scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Tepes Iii doesn't seem bothered though. Silver uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Tepes Iii has time to react. Tepes Iii takes one to the chin there. Silver throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Tepes Iii counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. A big right from Silver misses. Tepes Iii shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Silver counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Tepes Iii throws a head kick but Silver moves out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Silver! But no joy. Silver misses with a looping right. A slow jab from Silver misses its intended target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silver paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Tepes Iii lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Silver lunges at Tepes Iii with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tepes Iii's hand. Silver tries to clinch but Tepes Iii is having none of it. Silver slips a straight right by Tepes Iii. Silver looks to land a combination. Tepes Iii sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Silver misses with a body shot
and Tepes Iii counters with a low kick, right behind Silver 's knee. Tepes Iii's corner calls for a 1-2. Tepes Iii obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Tepes Iii lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Vlad Tepes Iii's cut is getting worse. A looping hook to the body misses from Silver. Tepes Iii does a little dance to reset his feet. Tepes Iii with a nice calf kick. Silver misses with a straight left.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tepes Iii gets the takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tepes Iii lands an elbow. Silver is looking for a sweep. Tepes Iii trying to control the position but Silver is working away. Silver struggling a bit here. Tepes Iii is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Silver knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Silver is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silver on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Silver is trying to control Tepes Iii's posture but Tepes Iii avoids it. The ground and pound from Tepes Iii seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Silver is looking for a sweep. Silver tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Tepes Iii lands a heavy elbow. Tepes Iii lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Silver tries to get back to half guard but can't. Tepes Iii can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silver is looking to escape. Silver is looking to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tepes Iii controlling the position easily from mount. Tepes Iii is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Silver has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Tepes Iii working away from the top, dropping strikes. Tepes Iii working for a guillotine from mount but Silver is in no mood to give up. Silver is looking to improve his position but Tepes Iii isn't that keen on the idea. Tepes Iii raining down shots from the mount!
And that's the end of the fight! Vlad Tepes Iii showed his dominance in that final round. I think Tepes Iii has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
