Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jesse Thomas Babcock!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bimbo Slaissi!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babcock fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Slaissi! But no joy.
Babcock drives through and clinches with Slaissi against the cage.
Slaissi lands a damaging elbow.
Babcock tries a body shot but Slaissi blocks it.
Slaissi breaks the clinch.
Babcock looks to score with a jab to the body but Slaissi is just out of range.
Babcock swings away with a body shot that misses
and Slaissi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slaissi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Babcock.
Slaissi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Babcock moves away.
Babcock misses with a hook to the body
and Slaissi counters with a stiff right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Babcock avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Slaissi scores with a jab.
Babcock swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Slaissi counters with a nice right hand that sends Babcock toppling to the canvas! Babcock scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Slaissi finish him?!
Babcock is rocked!
It looks like Jesse Thomas Babcock has been cut.
Slaissi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Oh Babcock is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Babcock swings for the body but Slaissi moves out of range.
Slaissi swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Babcock seems to have got his legs back now.
Babcock loads up on a big right hand but Slaissi slips the punch.
Bimbo Slaissi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Horrible takedown attempt by Babcock or perhaps it was just good defense by Slaissi, which made it look bad.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slaissi lands a big right hand that sends Babcock crashing to the mat! Slaissi stays standing though and waves Babcock back to his feet!
Babcock circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Slaissi. Babcock falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Slaissi!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bimbo Slaissi! Bimbo Slaissi retains his welterweight title!
