PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Red Crow (ranked 1812 p4p, 2032 weight class) and Dave McDonald (ranked 246 p4p, 268 weight class). Crow comes to the cage accompanied by Scarlet - Age of Seduction. McDonald has chosen Raise Your Horns - Amon Amarth as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Chris Dean and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald misses with a straight left.
McDonald throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
McDonald throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Crow was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Crow misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McDonald.
Crow throws a jab but it's blocked by McDonald.
Dave McDonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Crow lands a left and a right that send McDonald crashing to the mat, dazed. Crow thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McDonald looks to land a left hand but Crow moved out of range nicely.
McDonald scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
McDonald fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Crow walks into a stiff left hand from McDonald.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McDonald is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Crow.
A head kick misses from McDonald.
Crow throwing a counter right hand but McDonald manages to avoid it.
McDonald misses with a low kick.
McDonald lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
McDonald swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
It looked like Crow wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Crow moves out of range of the leg kick from McDonald.
Nice jab there from McDonald.
Crow looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Crow drops McDonald with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but McDonald looks back up at him and smiles so Crow waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

McDonald is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McDonald throws a leg kick that misses.
McDonald is still on wobbly legs! Can Crow finish him?
McDonald misses with a double jab.
Crow seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Crow steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McDonald.

McDonald just misses with a punch to the body.
Crow swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
McDonald seems to have recovered his senses.
McDonald fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Crow on the side of the head.

Crow is rocked!
Crow avoids the body shot from McDonald.
Crow fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
McDonald tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Crow was well out of range. Poor timing from McDonald.
A little feinted left hand from Crow on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
McDonald misses with a hook. Crow ducked under it nicely.
Crow feinted there with a counter leg kick.
McDonald misses with a telegraphed body shot
letting Crow counter with a right hand.
McDonald's jab looks to have found its range, popping Crow under the eye.
and Crow counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts McDonald! He's just covering up as Crow starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Red Crow!
After the fight, Red Crow was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Dave McDonald was interviewed post fight and said 'Well that sucks. I'm going to Burger King.'.
