Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Hernandez (ranked 514 p4p, 1210 weight class) and Kakashi Hataki (ranked 52 p4p, 114 weight class). Hernandez comes to the cage accompanied by Journey - Only The Young. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Hernandez! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kakashi Hataki! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Hernandez. Hataki does a little dance to reset his feet. Hataki lands with an overhand left. Nice sprawl there from Hataki as Hernandez shoots in. Hernandez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hataki sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A telegraphed right hand from Hernandez misses the target. Hernandez looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Hernandez scores with a jab to the jaw. Hataki moves out of range as Hernandez strikes. Hataki scores with a nice right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hataki slips a straight right by Hernandez. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hataki! But no joy. Hernandez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hataki's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hernandez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hernandez trying to control but Hataki is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hernandez content to stall in guard here. Hataki preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hernandez postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Hataki is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hernandez defends well. Hataki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hataki utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hataki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hataki has an active guard here but Hernandez has managed to pass into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hernandez cracks Hataki with an elbow. That is naaassty.
