Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jovan Dickons (ranked 1710 p4p, 2170 weight class) and Klayton King (ranked 258 p4p, 309 weight class). Dickons's entrance music is Sidung. A fine choice. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jovan Dickons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Klayton King!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by King - just one landing.
Dickons misses with a wild body shot.
Dickons lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Nice body punch from Dickons.
King misses with a double jab.
King lands a jab to Dickons's midsection.
Dickons slips under a jab from King.
Dickons misses the shot to the body.
King steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Dickons throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around King's waist but King gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dickons off to one side.
A left and a right from Dickons both land. Nice combination.
Dickons walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dickons shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. King manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
King is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if King can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dickons thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dickons stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. King swivels though and keeps the full guard.
King pulls Dickons in close to his closed guard and prevents Dickons from doing any damage or advancing position.
Dickons controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dickons tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard.
Dickons controlling from the top position.
Dickons trying to control but King is working from the bottom.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
King is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Dickons works the jab nicely.
Dickons has been working on his balance at The Hidden, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by King.
King stuffs the takedown attempt from Dickons. Dickons gets slowly back to his feet.
Some bone on bone action there as King checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Dickons walks into a left hand.
Dickons slips a straight right by King.
Dickons tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but King was well out of range. Poor timing from Dickons.
King lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Jovan Dickons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dickons throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent King stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dickons uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from King.
A big right from King misses.
Dickons is looking to wear down King with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
King ducks under a wild hook from Dickons.
Dickons looks to throw a body kick
and King counters with a nice uppercut.
A big left from King misses.

Dickons lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
King misses with an uppercut. Dickons saw that one coming.
King misses with a lunging right hand

and Dickons counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dickons.
King is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
King keeping moving, preventing Dickons from controlling successfully.
King trying to keep a closed guard but Dickons is proving a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dickons trying to control but King is working from the bottom.

Dickons postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! King is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dickons, into his guard.


Dickons is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and King defends well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

King wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Dickons's closed guard. He's half up but Dickons has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Dickons pivots and extends the arm, King falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Dickons! Well done that man!
