Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Quessy (ranked 1142 p4p, 1482 weight class) and Osmany Pizziconi (ranked 148 p4p, 195 weight class). Quessy's entrance music is NTM - Ma Benz. A fine choice. Osmany Pizziconi acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Osmany Pizziconi!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quessy connects with a single shot there.
Pizziconi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Quessy swivels and escapes.
Quessy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Quessy wants it to stay on the feet.
Quessy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Pizziconi looking to score a takedown here. Quessy is defending well but Pizziconi drives through and ends up in Quessy's guard.
Pizziconi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pizziconi working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Quessy's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pizziconi postures up in Quessy's guard and throws a big left but Quessy blocks it.
Quessy has control of Pizziconi's left arm, preventing Pizziconi from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Pizziconi working his ground and pound in the gym.
Pizziconi wants to get up but he can't break Quessy's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We've been hearing good reports from Quessy's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Pizziconi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Quessy's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pizziconi connects with a nice short shot to Quessy's temple.

Pizziconi throws a strike but Quessy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pizziconi is looking to cinch up a triangle. Quessy throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Pizziconi's body to avoid the submission. Pizziconi has instead reached around Quessy's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Pizziconi arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Osmany Pizziconi!
Osmany Pizziconi decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
