PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tobias Berge (ranked 1807 p4p, 1214 weight class) and Richie Alaska (ranked 247 p4p, 168 weight class). Alaska has chosen A Long December - Counting Crows as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tobias Berge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Richie Alaska!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Damien Edna and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Alaska.
Berge regains half guard.

Alaska is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Berge defends it well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Alaska seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Berge does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Alaska has got his arm under Berge's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Berge has spun round into Alaska's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Alaska escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Berge gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Berge got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alaska has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Berge has managed to get both his arms back between Alaska's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Alaska is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
My spies in Ludus Magnus inform me that Alaska has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

I would just about give that final round to Richie Alaska.
