Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Karl Schwarzschild!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gord Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Gord Ryan has been cut.
Schwarzschild lands a body shot.
Ryan checks a leg kick.
Ryan appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Ryan tests Schwarzschild's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Schwarzschild cracks Ryan with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Schwarzschild misses with a hook
and Ryan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Ryan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

enabling Ryan to counter with a crisp jab.

Ryan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Schwarzschild makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Schwarzschild closes the distance but Ryan moves to the side

and Ryan counters with a nice right hand that sends Schwarzschild toppling to the canvas! Schwarzschild scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Ryan finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ryan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ryan throws out a counter right but Schwarzschild avoids it with no problem.
Ryan has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Schwarzschild.

Schwarzschild uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ryan.
Ryan's corner calls for a 1-2. Ryan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Ryan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ryan scores with the left hand. Schwarzschild knows he should have avoided that one.
Ryan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ryan looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Ryan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Schwarzschild paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Ryan is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Schwarzschild had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Karl Schwarzschild seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Schwarzschild closes the distance and clinches.

Ryan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Schwarzschild has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Schwarzschild there as he acknowledges the shot.

Schwarzschild fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ryan appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Schwarzschild doesn't manage to clinch there - Ryan circles away.

Ryan moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Ryan throws a chopping leg kick but Schwarzschild manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ryan ducks under a wild hook from Schwarzschild.
Ryan swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Schwarzschild moves in looking to clinch but Ryan pushes him off.
A nice side step and Ryan releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Schwarzschild throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Gord Ryan dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Schwarzschild's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ryan has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

and Ryan scores with a counter punch that sends Schwarzschild to the canvas! Ryan smells blood - he's punishing Schwarzschild with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Schwarzschild has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
