Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Dru Quick (ranked 21992 p4p, 22010 weight class) and Jake Demuss (ranked 582 p4p, 578 weight class). Quick comes to the ring accompanied by Gangster's Paradise- Coolio. Demuss comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Dru Quick has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dru Quick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Demuss!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quick throws a lazy uppercut
and Demuss counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Quick throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Demuss to counter with a crisp jab.
Quick has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Yellow Lotus Center of Healing and Meditative Arts in the buildup to the fight.
Demuss thows a left - swing and a miss!
Demuss misses with a two punch combination.
As Demuss looks to move away, Quick throws a big counter combo but Demuss just gets out of the way.
A telegraphed right hand from Quick misses the target.
A little jabbing left from Demuss on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Quick throws a hook but Demuss blocks it.
Quick swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Demuss checks a low kick from Quick.
Quick has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Demuss.
Quick misses with a lunging right hand
and Demuss counters with a good low kick that Quick was not able to check.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Demuss chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Quick misses with a leg kick
and Demuss counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Quick loads up on a big right hand but Demuss slips the punch.
Demuss flicks out a counter leg kick but Quick steps away.
A combination from Quick does no damage.
Quick throws a lazy uppercut
and Demuss counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Quick misses with a wild body shot.
Dru Quick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Quick avoids the head kick by Demuss.
Quick fails to land with a series of punches.
Quick throws a big shot that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Demuss on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Quick. Quick obviously looking to wear him down.
Demuss has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Quick finds it's way round the side to connect with Demuss's head.

It looks like Jake Demuss has been cut.
Demuss keeps Quick at a distance using the push kick.
Demuss digs a good body shot into Quick's ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Quick misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Demuss counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Demuss slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Quick shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Demuss dips to his left and cracks Quick with an uppercut!
Quick looks to land a combination but Demuss avoids it well.
Demuss throws a big counter head kick but Quick avoids it with no problem.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Demuss uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Quick.
Demuss slips a jab from Quick.
Demuss lands a head kick. Quick smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Quick with a hook.
Demuss thumps Quick with a low kick.
Demuss has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Quick throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Demuss instigates a clinch.
Demuss unloads a knee to the mid-section. Quick lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Demuss's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Demuss closes the distance and clinches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Demuss has a couple of punches blocked by Quick.
Demuss displaying some good clinch control by pressing Quick up against the ropes.
Demuss throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Quicks head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Quick tries to work over Demuss's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Quick looking to slow down the pace here.
Quick throws an elbow but it misses.
Quick using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Demuss has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
A right handed body shot lands from Demuss.
Quick with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
A shot in the inside from Demuss.
Quick looking to throw knees to the head but Demuss is blocking nicely.
A left hand lands to the body for Demuss.
Quick is breathing heavily.
Demuss misses with a knee to the head.
Quick tries to stall but Demuss uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Quick has had enough of the clinch but Demuss keeps him there for the moment.
Demuss working aggressively here.
Quick throws a knee to the head but misses.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Demuss dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jake Demuss's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Demuss scores with a head kick.
Quick throws a leg kick
and Demuss counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Jake Demuss seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Quick avoids the head kick by Demuss.
Demuss lands a nice shot to the body.
Demuss tries a head kick but it misses.
Demuss throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Quick appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Quick closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Demuss crashing to the mat! Demuss uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!

Demuss is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Quick throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Quick sets himself, and Demuss steps forward looking for the clinch! Quick avoids it this time.
Quick connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Demuss's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Demuss - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Dru Quick!
After winning the bout, Dru Quick thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
