Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Turd McPherson (ranked 3248 p4p, 3823 weight class) and Jonas Carvalho (ranked 332 p4p, 393 weight class). Turd McPherson had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 266.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho throws an ugly left hook that misses

and McPherson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
McPherson thows a huge punch but Carvalho dodges it nicely.
McPherson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
McPherson is pressing down on Carvalho's thigh, looking to free his foot. Carvalho is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carvalho makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Carvalho moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! McPherson goes down! Can Carvalho finish him!?

It looks like Turd McPherson has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carvalho would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Carvalho told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

McPherson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

McPherson has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Carvalho doesn't defend quickly enough and McPherson has managed to lock this one up! Can Carvalho escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to McPherson on a fantastic submission victory.
