Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Bob Walton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroshi Yamasaki! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yamasaki drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Yamasaki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Yamasaki tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Yamasaki postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Walton is looking for a sweep. Walton wants to get back to his feet but Yamasaki drags him back down. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yamasaki fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Yamasaki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Walton is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Yamasaki is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yamasaki is looking to take a break and control but Walton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Yamasaki looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. You can see the frustration on Walton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Yamasaki tries for a kimura but Walton is defending well. Yamasaki wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Walton, who protects the arm well. Walton definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Walton is looking to regain half guard here but Yamasaki keeps moving and retains side control. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Yamasaki is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Walton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Walton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yamasaki on the ground. Yamasaki is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Walton knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Yamasaki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Walton is not content to let Yamasaki control the position. Yamasaki in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Walton is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
