Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leef Ung (ranked 4203 p4p, 4972 weight class) and Tuur Carlier (ranked 466 p4p, 487 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tuur Carlier was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leef Ung! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tuur Carlier! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ung tries to clinch up. Ung looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Carlier is looking for a sweep. Ung is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've been hearing that Ung has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Ung thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carlier's head. Ung prevents Carlier from improving his position. Carlier looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Ung scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Carlier regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Ung. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ung postures up and lands a big shot to Carlier's brow. Carlier utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ung throwing strikes but missing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ung with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ung throwing strikes from guard but Carlier blocks nicely. Carlier is controlling Ung's posture. Carlier working for a triangle but Ung defends it easily.
Ung scoring with some ground and pound. Ung trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ung is working Carlier over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Ung makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Ung working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ung throws a big right hand that misses. Carlier has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ung can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Carlier has momentary wrist control but Ung slips an elbow through the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlier had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ung defends it easily. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Ung distracts Carlier with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Ung chips away with some ground and pound.
Carlier is rocked! Ung throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Carlier seems keen to control Ung's posture. Ung landing some decent shots from guard. Carlier is still in real trouble! Can Ung finish him? Ung arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Carlier's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Leef Ung! Leef Ung decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
