Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rayful Edmond (ranked 1405 p4p, 1734 weight class) and Rob Smith (ranked 209 p4p, 262 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rayful Edmond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rob Smith!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edmond throws a combination that misses
and Edmond takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Edmond moves into the clinch successfully.
Edmond breaks from the clinch.
Smith is looking to clinch but Edmond is avoiding it.
Edmond is looking to clinch.
Edmond throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Smith to counter with a crisp jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith misses with a hook. Edmond ducked under it nicely.
Edmond slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Edmond tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Smith changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Smith has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Edmond tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smith is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Edmond closes the distance and clinches.
Smith misses with some punches.
Smith blocks an uppercut.
Edmond lands with a short shot to the head.
Edmond manages to break the clinch.
Rayful Edmond is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Edmond drops Smith with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Smith looks back up at him and smiles so Edmond waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Smith is rocked!
It looks like Rob Smith has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Edmond tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.
A little jabbing left from Smith on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Edmond finish him?
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Smith is defended easily by Edmond.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.

Edmond tries to clinch up
and Smith counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Edmond connects with an inside leg kick.
Edmond tries to clinch there but Smith circles away.
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.
Smith looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Smith slips a jab from Edmond.
Smith swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Edmond throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Smith works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Edmond drives through and clinches with Smith against the cage.
A short right from Smith.
Edmond breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Smith's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Edmond looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Edmond is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Edmond throws a sloppy head kick and Smith moves out of range easily.
Smith swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Smith throws a nice looking combination but Edmond bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smith on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
A jab from Edmond finds it's way through Smith's defenses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Edmond throws a powerful right kick. Smith tried to block low but the kick was high! Smith was taken right off of his feet! Edmond jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Rayful Edmond!
