Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jake Askren (ranked 1131 p4p, 1385 weight class) and Kaengsaklek Sitsongrit (ranked 103 p4p, 128 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kaengsaklek Sitsongrit!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Valeri Chadov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askren with a poor takedown
and Sitsongrit counters with a nice body shot.
A big left from Sitsongrit misses.
Sitsongrit paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Sitsongrit sizes up Askren with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Sitsongrit lands a lovely overhand right.

Askren fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sitsongrit sprawls well initially but Askren persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Sitsongrit manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Askren is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A looping hook to the body misses from Sitsongrit. Askren does a little dance to reset his feet.
Askren looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Askren tries for a takedown but Sitsongrit circles away easily
and Sitsongrit counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Askren goes for a double leg but Sitsongrit avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sitsongrit continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Askren. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jake Askren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Sitsongrit scores with a counter punch that sends Askren to the canvas! Sitsongrit smells blood - he's punishing Askren with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Askren has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
