Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Noah Anderson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 29 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ben Slam! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson lands with a good body shot. We've been informed that Slam has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Anderson misses with a kick to the body and Anderson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Noah Anderson has been cut. Slam takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Slam lands a jab to the head.
Anderson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Slam at a distance.
Ben Slam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Slam misses with a lunging right hand
and Anderson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Slam thinking. Anderson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Anderson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Slam takes a step back to recover. Anderson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Slam looks winded! Anderson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Slam crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Anderson - the referee stops the clock and Slam gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Anderson. Slam manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Anderson is looking to wear down Slam with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Anderson misses with a few strikes there.
Anderson thuds a left hand into Slam's body. Anderson sends Slam crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Anderson is motioning to the referee to let Slam up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Slam is rocked!
It looks like Ben Slam has been cut. Anderson fakes the body blow, causing Slam to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Slam goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
